Who buys the data?

Who buys the data?

Types of customers who buy data

According to a recent study, there are four primary types of customers who purchase data:
  • Individual consumers who use data for personal purposes.
  • Businesses that use data for marketing or other business purposes.
  • Governments and other institutions that use data for research or policymaking.
  • Data brokers and other middlemen who resell data to others.
Each of these customer groups has different motivations for buying data, and they tend to purchase different types of data sets. For example, individual consumers are more likely to purchase consumer data, while businesses are more likely to purchase business data. Governments and other institutions are more likely to purchase detailed scientific or demographic data sets.
